Although the story may be insufficient for some viewers I believe the straight to the point amazing action more than makes up for it. This is not to say action is the only thing it provides, the story isn't non existent, it's just hidden. They don't go off on dialoge giving backstory, they convey it through the actions of characters and emotion. The context of the storyline is admittedly abit lacking but i think and hope they will cover this in a later release. A second movie is already in production. The story is a tool to create a satisfactory experience paired with the action. With this insight i believe the existing story is more than sufficient while also makeing one long for more.
This movie is not ment to be a representation of the modern world, it's a fictional world that exists to convey the film. So judging the quality of the movie upon what music they listen to in one building in Bangladesh is irrelevant. Misrepresenting details about Bangladesh is not important when you have the entire Bengali police force helping the biggest druglord in their country kill an Australian man trying to save a teenager. Talk about realistic. Just beacuse a movie isn't classed as sci-fi dosn't mean you should expect a documentary. The "based on real life" trope is played out, we need more creative film expression like this.
90% of the people condemning this movie are either Bengali who were expecting seeing their uncle herding animals or people who didn't follow the story. If i wanted entertaining drama I'd have read a book instead or watched reality TV. Personally there's enough drama in my real life already, so much so that i might want to watch a satisfying action movie as an outlet and distraction from todays world events. Oh wait i already did that when i watched this movie.
If the sequal gives that contextual sadisfaction this would be a strong 10, For now it's a great set up for that, sitting at a 9.5.
